Cilindricity:
0,005 mm. (0,002 mm. - obtained data)
Concentricity:
0,010 mm. (0,003 mm. - obtained data)
Roughness: 0,8
(0,5 - obtained data)
ORIGINAL TOOLING UNTIL 1998:
Rotation of
workpiece on dead centers.
Driving with a 3
sectors membrane.
TECNOLOGIE FRB TOOLING SINCE 1998:
Rotation of
workpiece on revolving centers.
Driving with
self-compensating face driver with revolving body.
RESULTS:
- QUALITY : This system of equipment has permitted not only
to be included in the required quality range, but to abut on values of
50% of the tolerance. These qualitative results have been possible because,
by using revolving centers, there is no more friction between the centres of
the workpiece and the centers. Radial efforts have been eliminated by
replacing sectors clamping with self-compensating face drivers.
- ADVANTAGES: By this system, compared to original tooling,
lubrication and wear of the centers are eliminated. Moreover it is possible
to adjust the peripheral speed of the workpiece from 12-15 meters/1' to 40
m/1' and the result is that machine time is reduced and it is possible to
obtain better working conditions of the wheel with consequent reduction in
frequency of dressing.
- FRB face driver with revolving body is equipped with
micrometrical adjustment for setting up on the machine.
